Football Recap: Crest Takes a Loss

Crest extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They were outmatched by the Marmaton Valley Wildcats and fell 56-0. The Lancers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wildcats from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

As for Marmaton Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won five matchups by 46 points or more so far this season.

Marmaton Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Lord, who rushed for 107 yards and three TDs, and also threw for 74 yards and one touchdown on only seven passes. Lord has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Cooper Scharff was another key back, gaining 141 total yards and three touchdowns.

Coming up, Crest will challenge Waverly on Friday. As for Marmaton Valley, they will square off against St. Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
