Florida high school football: State passing, rushing and receiving yardage leaders

Anthony Barbar, Jamarie Pierre and Maddox Spencer are Florida leaders in passing, rushing and receiving.

According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, Anthony Barbar of Westminster Academy (Fort Lauderdale) leads Florida high school football in passing yards with 1,596 in five games for the 5-0 Lions. The senior signal caller has piled up 268 or more yards in each game, connecting on 100 of 139 attempts with 17 touchdowns against one interception.

The state's top runner is Jamarie Pierre of Horizon (Winter Garden) with 979 yards for the 3-2 Hawks. The 6-foot junior has carried 139 times this season and averages seven yards per carry with 12 touchdowns. Pierre has topped 200 yards three times this season with top performances of 38 carries for 288 yards and 32 carries for 281 yards.

The state's leading receiver is Maddox Spencer of Nease (Ponte Vedra), who has 701 yards on 39 catches for the 3-2 Panthers. The 5-8 junior has topped the 100-yard mark in four of five games with seven touchdowns on the year. He had a season-high 297 yards on 14 receptions in a 51-23 loss to Creekside (St. John's) on Sept. 1.
