Softball Game Preview: Northwest Wolves vs. Waukee Warriors

The Northwest Wolves will head out on the road to take on the Waukee Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Northwest will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak.

Waukee's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Monday: Northwest hadn't allowed a single run the last five times they've hit the field. Everything went the Wolves' way against St. Edmond on Saturday as they made off with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won 13 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Waukee fell victim to Pleasant Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-0. The Warriors have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Northwest's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Waukee, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Northwest beat Waukee 3-0 when the teams last played on June 4th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
