Basketball Recap: Palisades Takes a Loss

Palisades lost against Westchester back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Palisades Dolphins fell 57-50 to the Westchester Comets. While losing is never fun, the Dolphins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 235th, while the Comets are ranked 81st).

Palisades has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-14 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points over those games. As for Westchester, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.

Coming up, Palisades will challenge Marshall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westchester, they will take on Fairfax on Monday. One thing working in Westchester's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
