Softball Recap: Bellevue East's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Bellevue East entered their tilt with Liberty on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They had just enough and edged out the Blue Jays 7-5.

Alisha Mcmurtry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double.

In other batting news, Audrina Urwin was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ariana Wells, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Bellevue East's victory bumped their record up to 8-5.

Coming up, Bellevue East will square off against Millard West at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Liberty, they will head out to challenge Timberland at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
