Basketball Recap: Martinsville Artesians vs. Indian Creek Braves
Martinsville played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 71-38 defeat at the hands of the Indian Creek Braves. The loss continues a trend for the Artesians in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost four in a row.

Martinsville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ruby Murrell, who posted 13 points and five rebounds. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jersey Huff, who scored 11 points.
Alexa Sichting was nothing short of spectacular for Indian Creek: she went 9-for-13 to rack up 26 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists. Those seven assists gave Sichting a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Tunell, who shot 86% from the field on her way to 12 points along with five assists and three steals.
Martinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Indian Creek, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
