Soccer Game Preview: Brookside vs. Firelands

Brookside hasn't had much luck against Firelands recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Cardinals will head out to square off against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Brookside turned things around against Clearview on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Clippers with a sharp 5-1 victory. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 5-0.

Brookside hit Clearview with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Evan Little (2), Parker Gabet, Cole Lapohn, and Jayden Henke.

Meanwhile, Firelands hasn't lost a match since September 22nd, a trend which continued in their latest game on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand Elyria a 3-0 shutout. The score was close at halftime, but Firelands pulled away in the second half with two goals.

Brookside's record is now 6-8. As for Firelands, their record now sits at 13-2-1.

Brookside suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Firelands when the teams last played back in September. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
