Football Recap: Lassen Skates Past Las Plumas with Ease + How To Watch

Lassen's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Las Plumas Thunderbirds 56-14. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Thunderbirds recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Lassen had a senior duo take command as Dowan Stephens rushed for 178 yards and three TDs on only 15 carries and Dathen Moore rushed for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. With that strong performance, Stephens is now averaging an impressive 113 rushing yards per game. Terrin Hanson was in the mix as well, providing Lassen with one score.

Lassen didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Las Plumas to a completion percentage of just 46.4%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Edwin Gage Jimenez and Joseph Moses, who each logged one passes deflected. Lassen wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 57.1%.

Lassen's defense didn't let Branden Robinson, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Las Plumas' QB won't forget Krush Costello anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Lassen received some extra help from Hanson, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Despite the loss, Las Plumas saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Robinson threw for 168 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 58 yards on only five carries.

Lassen now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Las Plumas, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Lassen and Las Plumas will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Grizzlies are set to face off against their familiar foe Anderson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Las Plumas will take on rival Live Oak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
