Softball Recap: Crestwood's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Crestwood had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Newman Catholic Knights. For the Cadets, this counts as revenge for the 4-2 win the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in June of 2024.

Crestwood's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Newman Catholic, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-3-1.

Crestwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 6-0 win against Decorah-North Winneshiek on the 1st. As for Newman Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Central Springs on the 1st.
