Football Game Preview: McKean Highlanders vs. Brandywine Bulldogs

McKean is 0-5 against Brandywine since November of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Highlanders will challenge the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, McKean put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 48-6 victory over Dickinson. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Highlanders with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Brandywine got themselves on the board against DuPont on Friday, but DuPont never followed suit. They didn't even let the Tigers on the board, marking their second-straight 54-0 shutout. Considering the Bulldogs have won three contests by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Brandywine is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.5 points over those games. As for McKean, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5.

McKean came up short against Brandywine in their previous matchup back in October of 2019, falling 19-12. Can the Highlanders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
