Baseball Game Preview: McEachern Indians vs. Harrison Hoyas

The McEachern Indians will face off against the Harrison Hoyas at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. McEachern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

McEachern will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Pebblebrook on Monday. Everything went McEachern's way against Pebblebrook as McEachern made off with a 23-5 win. The Indians have beaten the Falcons the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Falcons has come to flipping the script.

Josiah Hatchett looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyce Williams, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malachi Butler, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

McEachern lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Harrison fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Hillgrove on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 7-4 to the Hawks. The Hoyas have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for McEachern, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.
