Football Game Preview: Shawnee Mission North Bison vs. Olathe Northwest Ravens

The Shawnee Mission North Bison will square off against the Olathe Northwest Ravens on Friday. Shawnee Mission North has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight losses, while Olathe Northwest will come in with three straight wins.

On Friday, Shawnee Mission North ended up a good deal behind Olathe West and lost 42-24. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Owls are ranked 33rd).

Meanwhile, Olathe Northwest posted their closest victory since October 11, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Shawnee Mission Northwest, sneaking past 31-28. The win almost wasn't to be: the Ravens were down 21-7 in the second quarter.

Shawnee Mission North's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Olathe Northwest, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Shawnee Mission North couldn't quite finish off Olathe Northwest in their previous matchup back in October of 2023 and fell 10-7. Can the Bison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
