After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Denair, Turlock Christian was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 37-35 win from a begrudging Eagles squad. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Turlock Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Payslie Porter led the charge by dropping a double-double with ten points and 16 boards. Porter is becoming a predictor of the Eagles' success: when she posts at least eight rebounds the team is 4-2 (and 1-2 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Mariana Montes, who posted seven points along with 11 boards and three steals.

Turlock Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Turlock Christian now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Big Valley Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.
