Baseball Game Preview: Paideia Pythons vs. Fellowship Christian Paladins

The Paideia Pythons will take on the Fellowship Christian Paladins at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Paideia has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Paideia's offense. They lost 12-0 to Wesleyan on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Pythons in their meetings with the Wolves: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Fellowship Christian had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Tigers.

Fellowship Christian got a great performance from James Sharp as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Sharp a new career-low in walks (one).

At the plate, Walker Waggoner was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Trummie Patrick, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Fellowship Christian pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Paideia, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Paideia suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Fellowship Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2016. Can Paideia avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
