Football Game Preview: Ulysses Tigers vs. Rose Hill Rockets

The Ulysses Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Rose Hill Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Saturday. Ulysses blew past Guymon 50-28. That looming 50-28 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Ulysses yet this season.

A big part of Ulysses' victory came down to the chemistry between Caden Ledesma and his top target Tyce Perez. Ledesma threw for 262 yards and three TDs while completing 82.8% of his passes while Perez rushed for 84 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. That's the most passing yards Ledesma has posted since back in September. Stryker Berglund was in the mix too, providing Ulysses with two scores.

Ulysses didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. Preston Hittle was the real danger to the passing game, picking up two interceptions all by himself.

Meanwhile, Rose Hill waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with a 35-12 win. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won five matchups by 23 points or more so far this season.

Ulysses' record now sits at 3-5. As for Rose Hill, their record is now 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Ulysses against Rose Hill in their previous matchup back in October of 2015, as the squad secured a 57-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
