Basketball Recap: Oroville Tigers vs. Las Plumas Thunderbirds
Oroville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Las Plumas Thunderbirds, falling 57-31. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-30 back in January.
Las Plumas got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Liliana Carrillo out in front who went 7 for 13 to rack up 19 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Carrillo a new career-high in points. Ava Hepworth was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards.
Oroville's loss dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Las Plumas, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.
