Baseball Recap: Open Bible Christian Comes Up Short

Open Bible Christian was the 19-3 winner over Hope Christian Academy when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors lost 18-11 to the Lions on Tuesday. Even though they lost, the Warriors' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.3 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Open Bible Christian got a massive performance out of Troy DeDios, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. DeDios has become a key player for the Warriors: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Mitchell Parnell was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Open Bible Christian has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. Hope Christian Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Open Bible Christian will take on rival Corinth Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hope Christian Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe Brunswick Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
