Columbus has gone a perfect 7-0 against Russell County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Columbus Blue Devils will venture away from home to take on the Russell County Warriors at 11:00 a.m. Russell County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Columbus, who comes in off a win.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Columbus and Shaw meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. Columbus walked away with a 4-0 victory over Shaw.

Meanwhile, Russell County came up short against Calvary Christian on Friday and fell 6-2.

Colton Armstrong made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Russell County has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. Columbus' win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6.

Columbus took their victory against Russell County when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Columbus since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
