After losing to Plymouth Whitemarsh the last time they met, Council Rock South decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Council Rock South Golden Hawks narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials 48-45. Winning may never get old, but the Golden Hawks sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Despite the defeat, Plymouth Whitemarsh saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Eliza Meersman went 6 of 7 en route to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Meersman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Patete, who posted four points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.

Council Rock South pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.

Council Rock South will face off against Villa Maria Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Villa Maria Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Council Rock South surely won't give up without a fight. Plymouth Whitemarsh has already played their next contest (against Souderton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
