Basketball Recap: Samantha Whitling Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ridgway

Brookville won the last time they faced Ridgway and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Brookville Raiders walked away with a 43-33 victory over the Ridgway Elker.

Brookville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Samantha Whitling out in front who went 5-for-12 to rack up 18 points and eight steals. The dominant performance gave Whitling a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Emma Northey, who posted 13 points.

Brookville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Brookville's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Ridgway, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Looking ahead, Brookville will take on DuBois at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridgway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
