Two dominant signal callers in Tevin Cotter and Daxton Minton are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Liberal Redskins will venture away from home to take on the Great Bend Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Great Bend will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Liberal extended their winning streak to five on Friday. The Redskins walked away with a 39-32 win over Garden City.

James Fieser produced another solid effort picking up 226 receiving yards and three scores. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 108.2 receiving yards per game. Max Holman also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Meanwhile, while Great Bend put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Dodge City. The Panthers really took it to the Demons for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-0 victory. The Panthers have beaten the Demons the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Demons has come to flipping the script.
Liberal better keep an eye on Ian Premer. He was instrumental in Great Bend's win, picking up 33 receiving yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 62 yards and one score. Conner Holladay was another key player, rushing for 103 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Great Bend proved: they limited Dodge City to a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Kale Kern for the heroic effort on defense: he. That's the most yards per carry they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Liberal's record now sits at 5-0. As for Great Bend, their record is now an identical 5-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Liberal has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 161 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Great Bend struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 170.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Liberal couldn't quite get it done against Great Bend in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 14-7. Can the Redskins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
