Football Game Preview: Van Wert Cougars vs. Kenton Wildcats + How To Watch

The Van Wert Cougars will take on the Kenton Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Van Wert has given up an average of 30 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Van Wert is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 20, 2024 on Friday. They lost 45-24 to Shawnee. The Cougars gained 84 more yards on the day, but it was the Indians that made the best use of them.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Micah Cowan, who picked up 107 receiving yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Kenton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 35-26 to Memorial. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 355th, while the Roughriders are ranked 108th).

Kenton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Van Wert, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
