Tamaqua skates past Tri-Valley with ease

Recap: Tamaqua Blue Raiders vs. Tri-Valley Bulldogs

In what's become a running theme this season, the Tamaqua Blue Raiders gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past Tri-Valley 55-23 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-6.

Tamaqua's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Ligenza led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Samantha Plasha was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five steals.

Tri-Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Miller, who scored six points. Another player making a difference was Grace Header, who scored seven points.

The win makes it two in a row for Tamaqua and bumps their season record up to 12-4. As for Tri-Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tamaqua will square off against Lehighton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tri-Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Williams Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
