Having just played yesterday, the Dwyer Panthers will get right back to it and host the Martin County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Dwyer will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Palm Beach Gardens, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Dwyer narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Palm Beach Gardens 50-47. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Gators are ranked 78th).

Dwyer's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was C'Orna Greene, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points and six rebounds. Greene is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maressa Deitch, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Martin County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They really took it to Forest Hill for the full four quarters, racking up an 80-0 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 24 points or more this season.
Dwyer better focus on containing Katelyn Pire and Becca Witt as the pair were huge in Martin County's win. Pire posted 24 points, while Witt earned 19 points. The dominant performance gave Witt a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Valenza, who had ten points.
Martin County is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Dwyer, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9.
Dwyer came up short against Martin County in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 39-32. Will Dwyer have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
