Baseball Recap: Brookline Gets the Win

Brookline hadn't done well against Newton North recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Warriors came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 5-1. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Tigers back in April, they had to take a 5-1 loss.

Connor Fitzgerald was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Felix Ham was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Brookline's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-12. As for Newton North, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookline will face off against Framingham at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Newton North, they will take on Weymouth at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
