If Palmview wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Nixon, they should've done a better job of containing Dante Escobar. The Mustangs came out on top against the Lobos by a score of 42-33 on Tuesday for which the team can thank Escobar, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 16 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games he's played.

Palmview lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jayden Gutierrez, who posted nine points along with six rebounds and five assists. Leo Rivero was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Nixon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Palmview, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Nixon will venture away from home to take on United at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will be up against the Longhorns' rather soft defense (which has allowed 60.9 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Palmview, they will head out on the road to face off against Rio Grande City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rattlers have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
