Basketball Game Preview: Carmel Padres vs. Monte Vista Christian Mustangs

Carmel is 1-7 against Monte Vista Christian since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Carmel Padres will be playing at home against the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Carmel will be strutting in after a win while Monte Vista Christian will be coming in after a loss.

Carmel is coming into the matchup on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They came out on top against North Monterey County by a score of 43-33 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Monte Vista Christian ended up a good deal behind Stevenson on Saturday and lost 55-40. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 903rd, while the Pirates are ranked 364th).

Monte Vista Christian dropped their record down to 6-16 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Carmel, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

Carmel came out on top in a nail-biter against Monte Vista Christian in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 33-30. Will Carmel repeat their success, or does Monte Vista Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
