Soccer Recap: Monte Vista Victorious

Monte Vista won the last time they faced Grossmont and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Monte Vista Monarchs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Grossmont Foothillers, sneaking past 2-1. That's two games straight that the Monarchs have won by just one goal.

Marely Velazquez was the driving force of Monte Vista's attack as she scored both of Monte Vista's goals, bringing her season total up to nine goals.

The victory got Monte Vista back to even at 3-3-2. As for Grossmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7-1 record this season.

Monte Vista didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-0 defeat against Helix on the 17th. Grossmont has also already played their next contest, a 7-0 win against Mount Miguel on the 17th.
