Softball Recap: Butte Central Catholic Maroons vs. Libby Loggers
Butte Central Catholic extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-6 in the process. They lost 16-3 to the Libby Loggers. If the Maroons were looking for revenge after losing 17-1 to the Loggers when the teams met back in April of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Libby, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4. That looming 16-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.
For Libby's part, Weslee MacDonald tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Leah Rusdal was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Waggoner, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Coming up, Butte Central Catholic will challenge Frenchtown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncs will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Maroons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Libby, they will face off against Hamilton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
