Football Game Preview: Axtell Eagles vs. St. Paul Indians

The Axtell Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the St. Paul Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Axtell's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Axtell's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 46-0 victory over Wakefield. Those 46 points were actually the fewest the Eagles have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Meanwhile, St. Paul fell victim to Central Christian and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 46-0 loss at the hands of the Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Cougars are ranked fifth).

Axtell's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for St. Paul, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Axtell against St. Paul when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 68-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
