Softball Recap: Pueblo West Comes Up Short

After flying high against Liberty on Thursday, Pueblo West came back down to earth. The Cyclones fell just short of the Frederick Golden Eagles by a score of 7-6 on Saturday. The Cyclones were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Pueblo West saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kassidy Donley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base. Payton Odell was another, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Pueblo West has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-6 record this season. As for Frederick, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Pueblo West didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-6 win against Mead on the 27th. As for Frederick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-2 victory against Pueblo County on the 27th.
