Softball Game Preview: Guymon Tigers vs. Elk City Elks

The Guymon Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Elk City Elks at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

Guymon is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest defeat since September 8th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Woodward by a score of 6-4. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Boomers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, Elk City came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Elks, who have now won 12 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Guymon's loss dropped their record down to 10-18-1. As for Elk City, their victory bumped their record up to 26-3-1.

Guymon suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Elk City in their previous matchup back in August of 2023. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
