Softball Recap: Shiloh Takes a Loss

Shiloh extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-8. They lost 17-4 to the Dunwoody Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Generals of the 13-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Amaya Erby was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was A'Rayna Davis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

As for Dunwoody, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games.

On Dunwoody's side, Anslie Worley made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits. Worley has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Dunwoody got a massive performance out of Lauren Dowhower, who went 3-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave Dowhower a new career-high. Allie Sleep was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Shiloh didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-1 defeat against Decatur on the 11th. As for Dunwoody, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 13-4 win against Lovett on the 10th.
