Softball Recap: Tift County's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Tift County unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 5-2 to the Cook Hornets. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

Marlee Veazey was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Morgan Brey, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Tift County's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Cook, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tift County will head out to face off against Houston County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cook, they are taking a road trip to take on Tattnall County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
