Baseball Game Preview: Indian River Wolves vs. Camden Blue Devils

The Indian River Wolves will square off against the Camden Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Indian River 3.6, Camden 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Indian River is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They beat Oneida by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Wolves, who have now won four contests in a row.

Meanwhile, Camden beat Vernon-Verona-Sherrill 7-4 on Tuesday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Adam Gonzalez made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other pitching news, Evan Pitcher tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Evan Gonzalez, who went 2-for-3 with four runs and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Terrier, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Camden's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Indian River, their win bumped their record up to an identical 12-5.
