Softball Recap: Hooker's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Hooker can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Boise City Wildcats. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Allie Metcalf made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Metcalf was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August.

In other batting news, Hooker got a big performance out of Yedelin DeHerrera, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs DeHerrera has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Lexi Adair, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Hooker's win bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Boise City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Hooker has already played their next matchup (against Tyrone), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Boise City, they will face off against Turpin at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
