Basketball Game Preview: Cabrillo Conquistadores vs. Paso Robles Bearcats

The Cabrillo Conquistadores will square off against the Paso Robles Bearcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Cabrillo came up short against San Luis Obispo and fell 44-32.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jasmyn Hughes, who posted three points along with five boards and four steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Natalie Mccune was another key player, putting up nine points.

Even though they lost, Cabrillo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Paso Robles also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Santa Ynez by a score of 55-48. The Bearcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cabrillo's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-7. As for Paso Robles, their loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

Cabrillo took their win against Paso Robles when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 55-29. Does Cabrillo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Paso Robles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
