Basketball Game Preview: King Wolves vs. Centennial Huskies

King hasn't had much luck against Centennial recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Both will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 7:00 p.m. King will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, King didn't have too much trouble with Santiago as they won 53-34. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Sharks are ranked 152nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Corona typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Centennial proved too difficult a challenge. They claimed a resounding 79-48 win over the Panthers. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

King pushed their record up to 21-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season.

King lost to Centennial on the road by a decisive 71-53 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can King avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
