Recap: Calexico vs. Southwest EC
In what's become a running theme this season, the Calexico Bulldogs gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over Southwest EC. The high-flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Calexico considering their one-goal performance the contest before.
They hit Southwest EC with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Yaireth Uriostegui (2),
Garcia Arellana, and
Amy Garcia.
Calexico is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5-2 record this season. As for Southwest EC, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12-4 record this season.
Calexico will head out on the road to square off against Brawley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Brawley: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Calexico has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. Southwest EC does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
