Brookstone proved they can win big  last Tuesday (they won by 12) and  on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Westfield School Hornets, sneaking past  6-4. The  victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won four in a row.
 Chanwoo Kim made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  6.2 innings while giving up  four earned runs off   five  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Charles Briscoe was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with three  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Brennan Neal, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Brookstone's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Westfield School, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record  this season.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Brookstone beat Westfield School by a score of  9-2 later that day.
