Soccer Game Preview: Walnut Grove vs. Lanier

Walnut Grove is 0-3 against Lanier since February of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Walnut Grove Warriors will face off against the Lanier Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Walnut Grove didn't have quite enough to beat Eastside and fell 2-1.

Walnut Grove's goal came courtesy of Aidan Bird, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Lanier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Duluth who was credited with the victory. Duluth got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Lanier's three.

Walnut Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Lanier, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Walnut Grove suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Lanier in their previous matchup back in February of 2019. Can Walnut Grove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
