Softball Recap: Elgin Takes a Loss

Elgin made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Piedmont, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Owls fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Owls in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost eight in a row.

Elgin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kynli Garrett, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Piedmont, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Elgin has already played their next match, an 18-0 victory against Lawton on the 2nd. As for Piedmont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 5-2 win against Norman North on the 29th.
