Soccer Game Preview: Castro Valley vs. Piedmont

The Castro Valley Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Piedmont Highlanders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Castro Valley's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Castro Valley fell victim to Bishop O'Dowd and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 476th, while the Dragons are ranked 68th).

Meanwhile, Piedmont and Berkeley finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Thursday.

Castro Valley's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. Piedmont's draw gives them a new season record of 3-3-2.

Castro Valley came up short against Piedmont when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Castro Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
