Basketball Game Preview: Carver High School of Engineering & Science vs. Sun Valley Vanguards

Carver High School of Engineering & Science will venture away from home to square off against the Sun Valley Vanguards at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Academy at Palumbo just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 46-32 bruising from the Griffin.

Despite their defeat, Carver High School of Engineering & Science saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Desiray Zepp, who posted 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. The dominant performance gave Zepp a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Brown, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, Sun Valley had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Merion Mercy Academy with a 44-38 victory on Thursday.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Sun Valley, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.

Carver High School of Engineering & Science ended up a good deal behind Sun Valley when the teams last played back in November of 2023, losing 49-31. Can Carver High School of Engineering & Science avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
