Soccer Recap: Northwood-Kensett Comes Up Short

After flying high against Fort Dodge on Tuesday, Northwood-Kensett came back down to earth. The Vikings fell just short of the Des Moines North Polar Bears by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Northwood-Kensett of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Northwood-Kensett now has a losing record of 3-4-2. As for Des Moines North, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Northwood-Kensett didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Marshalltown on the 29th. As for Des Moines North, they have also already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against Panorama on the 26th.
