Softball Recap: O'Connor Comes Up Short + How To Watch

O'Connor had lost seven straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 12-13 to make it eight. They fell just short of the Pinnacle Pioneers by a score of 7-5. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly two runs.

Sydnee Williams was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Italia Carpio, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

As for Pinnacle, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.

On Pinnacle's side, Torynn Slaughter was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Lili Cruse was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run.

O'Connor wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-2 loss against Desert Vista on the 20th. As for Pinnacle, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 victory against Mountain Ridge on the 21st.
