Basketball Recap: Anson Starts off Right with Win over Montgomery Central

Anson had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 61-45 win over the Montgomery Central Timberwolves on Tuesday. The Bearcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Timberwolves, too.

Leading Anson to victory were Taviane Robinson and Graham Davis. Robinson dropped a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Davis dropped a double-double with 22 points and 16 boards. Robinson is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last 14 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cordarius Bivens, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Anson has already played their next contest, a 76-47 victory against Albemarle on the 21st. As for Montgomery Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-44 win against Wheatmore on the 20th.
