Football Game Preview: Perryton Rangers vs. Levelland Lobos

Two dominant signal callers in Cooper Ryan Schilling and Ethan Salazar are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Perryton Rangers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Levelland Lobos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Perryton has given up an average of 36.9 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Perryton is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Estacado on Thursday. Despite 198 more yards than the Matadors, the Rangers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Perryton might have lost, but man, Marco Najera was a machine: he picked up 154 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Isaac Arellano, who rushed for 83 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Levelland finally came back down to earth last Friday. They fell 20-13 to Estacado. The Lobos' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Although Levelland took the loss, they still got scores from Noah Martin and Salazar.

Perryton's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Levelland, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

We should be in store for an exciting game as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Perryton has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 367 total yards per game. However, it's not like Levelland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 370.4 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.

Perryton was able to grind out a solid victory over Levelland when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 43-35. Do the Rangers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lobos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
