Softball Recap: Red Rock Comes Up Short

Red Rock had lost four straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-6 to make it five. They came up short against the Camp Verde Cowboys, falling 18-1. The Scorpions were not able to make up for their loss to the Cowboys from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Camp Verde, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games.

For Camp Verde's part, they let Jeslynn Sharp and Maryah Ruiz run wild. Sharp went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Ruiz got on base in two of her three plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave Sharp a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Tillee Cupp, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
