Recap: Placer Hillmen vs. Fall River Bulldogs
On Friday, Placer was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-45 to Fall River. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Placer came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 263rd, while Fall River is ranked 602nd).
Fall River's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hailey Valdez, who scored 12 points along with 9 steals. Valdez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mylah Darnell, who scored 14 points along with 6 steals.
Placer's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Fall River, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Placer will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Twelve Bridges at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. As for Fall River, they will face off against Sheldon at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday.
